How to use the card drawer

Use this page as the operating manual for Fair Card Drawer: shuffle, Cards per draw, Draw card(s), Concealed faces, Reshuffle, Reset, history, and mini tools.

Workflow

  1. Press Reshuffle (or load the page fresh) to ensure a full shuffled deck. 52 cards return to the deck, discard and on-table hand clear for the new shuffle, and the live region confirms reshuffle.
  2. Set Cards per draw, optionally enable Concealed faces, then press Draw card(s). That many cards move from deck to the felt hand and Draw history; concealed mode hides faces until you turn it off.
  3. Read rank and suit from the SVG faces or listen to the live region announcement. Each card shows inline artwork (no external image CDN). History lists every card drawn this session.
  4. Continue drawing without reshuffling until the deck is empty or you choose to Reshuffle. Drawn cards cannot reappear until a reshuffle—without-replacement dealing.
  5. Use Red or black or High / low (draw 2) from Mini tools when you need a quick side random choice. Color pick does not alter the deck. High/low draws two cards and compares standard ace-low values on screen.
  6. Press Reset and confirm when you want a clean slate on a shared device. Storage for this tool clears and the deck returns to a fresh shuffled state.

Worked examples

Before you roll

Start from a reshuffled deck or press Reshuffle when you need all 52 cards back in play. The status line shows how many cards remain.

Set Cards per draw in Options before pressing Draw card(s). The primary button label reflects plural draws when count is above one.

Toggle Concealed faces when players should see backs first—faces appear when you disable concealment after the draw.

Open Show options on mobile or desktop when the sidebar is hidden so you can reach Reshuffle, Reset, and mini tools.

If something looks wrong

If Draw card(s) is disabled, the deck is empty—Reshuffle to continue.

If High / low reports insufficient cards, Reshuffle or reduce prior draws before comparing.

If faces stay hidden, check Concealed faces in Options—it overrides visible ranks until unchecked.

If old session data reloads on a lab machine, use Reset after class so the next user starts fresh.

Mobile and keyboard notes

Draw card(s) and Show options / Hide options are reachable with keyboard focus like other buttons.

Card SVGs expose aria-labels with rank and suit when faces are visible.

The live region announces draw results so you do not need to watch animation to know a card was taken.

On narrow screens, hide Options after setup so the felt table stays in view.
